Eclectic Listening History

Music has always owned a large part of my life. One of my earliest memories of being captivated by it was in the car with my mom listening to either Suzy Boggus or Pam Tillis (though whoever it was is of no importance.) I was completely taken by the sound of lyrics moving in-between the instrumental

The Soundtracks to the films Bad Boys and Set It Off exposed me to Hip-Hop

Not to let me forget other genres included with these compilations

My inspiration to want to make music sparked from Sublime

I really fell in love with the way they used samples and Brads words on 'Cisco Kid'
Picked up a pen and the pad drops reality never thinking I  that  I would live to see the day I got to rock my own CD
That blew my fuckin mind and opened a perspective I still haven't let go of

Though there is no one more influential on my vocals than Zach De La Roca, frontman for Rage Against the Machine.

Beyond my position as a lyricist I am an avid listener for enjoyment but there are times when I really need some jams to keep on moving through

The lil homie Angel burned me a few Silent Hill scores which have been an aide to riding out my spells of depression and on the opposite end, mania.
Then there is synthwave, which my ears have been stuck on for a few years now

I can enjoy a variety of soundscapes and you'll always find something or other playing through my speakers

Room 214

There was one night where singer/composer/model Brooke Jessen, AKA, B the Flowers, and I spontaneously rented a cheap motel room in La Puente, Ca. We we're either going to record some music or shoot photographs, depending on whatever idea hit first. Obviously, we were struck with going into a photo session, joined also by our mutual friend Daniel Casillas. It was one of the most memorable shoots I participated in.  Check out Brooke on Instagram -  https://www.instagram.com/btheflowers/ Listen to Brooke on Spotify -  https://open.spotify.com/artist/0OIAznvDAzLn6VkANn7LXZ Say "Hello" to Daniel on Instagram -  https://www.instagram.com/daniel_casillas33/

[Profile] VeRah

If I could make it over to Uruguay and reach the historical capital of Montevideo, I’d love to catch a performance by underground synth artist VeRa. Born Veronica Ramos in 1983, the native Montevidean artist studied with a focus on  piano, composition and soundtrack creation at the National School of Film Experimentation and Realization. As a multi-instrumental artist, she worked with several music groups before producing her first solo album “A Void Filled with Sound” in 2014 and has since issued six releases, “The Awakening” 2020, “Crisalida/Ocaso” 2021 and "The Fall"  in May 2022 followed by her third album "El Silencio Es Musica" July, of the same year. Her latest single “Judgment” appeared in January 2023. VeRa has been doing shows in her hometown and in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She balances teaching piano professionally and producing new material.  After finding her tracks “Carmilla Stoned” and “Follow the Voice” on Beatport, I fell right into her expressi

Old Photos

We all start out somewhere, right? I'm prompted to write this after finding an old disk with some of my early photographs on it. Back in 2010, I was learning, and going for it. It has to be remembered that even the greatest went through a formative period and had to develop into who they'd eventually become. Not to say I'm one of the greatest, that's for the crowd to decide. None the less, regardless of how many accolades I've received or achievements I've earned, like being presented in multiple international galleries, I can still always get better and go further, and remain humble..
