Short Discovers Knead Donuts

I almost forgot how important it is to walk the streets. You not only get to absorb your environment, you find some cool places.

I didn't realize I had put in the wrong Lyft coordinates until my driver kicked me out in DT Long Beach.

Somehow my eyes tricked me when I saw LBCU on the destination screen and requested the ride. I was on the phone with a long time friend Ryan Camacho who currently stays in Arizona. Instead of getting off the line and finding the best path towards a bus that could get me to Santa Ana to meet with Bravoe I began to walk down 7th, which was one direction I knew.
I kept on foot and once we exited our conversation I figured another Lyft would be best to catch.
Wanting to smoke a lil snap before sitting in another car I sought a place to stay lowkey.

Knead caught my eye. Donuts alone are good at any time so I stopped in.

This little M&P Shop has been open for a year and is known for their coffee according to the young lady at the counter who was very happy to serve for business. I was only going for one but she convinced me to buy a second and given a third on the house if she let me be surprised, which I went for with an iced coffee. Its no surprise that drink is what their know for judging by its smoothness, but their donuts are amazing. I mean, they already looked good behind the glass but their taste is devine.

I swear this piece above tastes like a churro. The frame below is their Caramel Macchiato with a coffee bean centered on that delicious whip

The blueberry surprise was packed with the same deliciousness and is shown in the starting photo.

Room 214

There was one night where singer/composer/model Brooke Jessen, AKA, B the Flowers, and I spontaneously rented a cheap motel room in La Puente, Ca. We we're either going to record some music or shoot photographs, depending on whatever idea hit first. Obviously, we were struck with going into a photo session, joined also by our mutual friend Daniel Casillas. It was one of the most memorable shoots I participated in.  Check out Brooke on Instagram -  https://www.instagram.com/btheflowers/ Listen to Brooke on Spotify -  https://open.spotify.com/artist/0OIAznvDAzLn6VkANn7LXZ Say "Hello" to Daniel on Instagram -  https://www.instagram.com/daniel_casillas33/

If I could make it over to Uruguay and reach the historical capital of Montevideo, I’d love to catch a performance by underground synth artist VeRa. Born Veronica Ramos in 1983, the native Montevidean artist studied with a focus on  piano, composition and soundtrack creation at the National School of Film Experimentation and Realization. As a multi-instrumental artist, she worked with several music groups before producing her first solo album “A Void Filled with Sound” in 2014 and has since issued six releases, “The Awakening” 2020, “Crisalida/Ocaso” 2021 and "The Fall"  in May 2022 followed by her third album "El Silencio Es Musica" July, of the same year. Her latest single “Judgment” appeared in January 2023. VeRa has been doing shows in her hometown and in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She balances teaching piano professionally and producing new material.  After finding her tracks “Carmilla Stoned” and “Follow the Voice” on Beatport, I fell right into her expressi

Old Photos

We all start out somewhere, right? I'm prompted to write this after finding an old disk with some of my early photographs on it. Back in 2010, I was learning, and going for it. It has to be remembered that even the greatest went through a formative period and had to develop into who they'd eventually become. Not to say I'm one of the greatest, that's for the crowd to decide. None the less, regardless of how many accolades I've received or achievements I've earned, like being presented in multiple international galleries, I can still always get better and go further, and remain humble..
