Short Goes To The London West Hollywood at Beverly Hills

I write this from the balcony of my suite at the London West Hollywood and I couldn't be more pleased with my stay, nor can I emphasize the must in "You must stay here" anymore than the word already urges.

My Lyft shot me over to this regal hotel a little past noon. If you weren't paying attention this spot could easily be missed as it's somewhat hidden with a real lowkey one way entrance on San Vicente Blvd, just before the Sunset Strip where the Whiskey A Go-Go stands.
As an American Express Platinum cardholder I was able to check-in early and take advantage of a room upgrade that elevated my standard room to a Crown Suite. While these options are not always guaranteed I'm fortunate they were and the process to register me as a guest took very little time.
Once I entered the dorm I was beside myself and didn't know where to begin.

Behind the Queen bed is a vanity desk for the ladies to design their makeup

Tic Tac Toe Anyone?

After taking in the setup I browsed through the mini bar to discover beers, champagne, Coca-Colas, Red Bulls, juices and Coconut waters.

Above the fridge cabinet is an assortment of goodies and six bottles of liquor. K-cups of coffee and teas are found in a drawer below the Keurig percolator.

The bathing room is beautifully tiled, serenely lit and elegantly stocked with an oversized tub and a walk-in shower with individual heads on each side so couples can enjoy a rinse together. Bathrobes and a hair drier comes standard.

Downstairs I wished to treat myself to a rum mixer. The bartender who's name escapes me put together a nicely minted and citrusy Mojito. This would be my first Mojito ever so I can't justly make any comparisons although it did taste fantastic with the Salmon I ordered shortly after.

The cooks did a superb job. Topped with ribbons of watermelon, black radish, and microgreens next to an avocado spread with veggies, every bite was explosive with flavor.

My only issue came in the morning. The creamers provided for coffee were spoiled so I had to take my cup black. I'm sure much time has passed since there's been company in suite 410 so I'll go off that assumption regarding the soured Mini-Moo's.
I had a cigarette before hitting up the continental breakfast. While the selection of items ranging from hot meals to fruits and parfaits were vast I kept it light with grapefruit juice and a plate made of a veggie omelette, croissant and banana which satisfied my normally tiny appetite.

Another perk of being an Amex Platinum member is the privilege of a late check-out so I basically lounged on the couch in my room and streamed music from my laptop until I ventured back downstairs to enjoy a Bloody Maria (which is where Tequila is used rather than Vodka) and finished off my day at the pool where I indulged on "The English Rita" which is spicy, and a couple glasses of "The Duchess" which in contrast is sweeter.
I departed with a very fine buzz.

Now, I have many other suites and hotels to cover in the coming months but to be honest I'm set on becoming a regular guest here. I've yet to explore the night life with comedy clubs and barhopping, see a picture in the screening room and experience the rooftop pool in the evening. It would also be a pleasure to meet living mascots Winston & Churchill, whom are English Bulldogs known to stroll through the property from time to time.

..

Thank you for reading up on this review. As I expressed in the beginning of this article you must find the chance to stay here sometime. Should that day come it is with the highest hopes your visit is matched with the same excellence.

Room 214

There was one night where singer/composer/model Brooke Jessen, AKA, B the Flowers, and I spontaneously rented a cheap motel room in La Puente, Ca. We we're either going to record some music or shoot photographs, depending on whatever idea hit first. Obviously, we were struck with going into a photo session, joined also by our mutual friend Daniel Casillas. It was one of the most memorable shoots I participated in.  Check out Brooke on Instagram -  https://www.instagram.com/btheflowers/ Listen to Brooke on Spotify -  https://open.spotify.com/artist/0OIAznvDAzLn6VkANn7LXZ Say "Hello" to Daniel on Instagram -  https://www.instagram.com/daniel_casillas33/

If I could make it over to Uruguay and reach the historical capital of Montevideo, I’d love to catch a performance by underground synth artist VeRa. Born Veronica Ramos in 1983, the native Montevidean artist studied with a focus on  piano, composition and soundtrack creation at the National School of Film Experimentation and Realization. As a multi-instrumental artist, she worked with several music groups before producing her first solo album “A Void Filled with Sound” in 2014 and has since issued six releases, “The Awakening” 2020, “Crisalida/Ocaso” 2021 and "The Fall"  in May 2022 followed by her third album "El Silencio Es Musica" July, of the same year. Her latest single “Judgment” appeared in January 2023. VeRa has been doing shows in her hometown and in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She balances teaching piano professionally and producing new material.  After finding her tracks “Carmilla Stoned” and “Follow the Voice” on Beatport, I fell right into her expressi

Old Photos

We all start out somewhere, right? I'm prompted to write this after finding an old disk with some of my early photographs on it. Back in 2010, I was learning, and going for it. It has to be remembered that even the greatest went through a formative period and had to develop into who they'd eventually become. Not to say I'm one of the greatest, that's for the crowd to decide. None the less, regardless of how many accolades I've received or achievements I've earned, like being presented in multiple international galleries, I can still always get better and go further, and remain humble..
